Cigarette Boats Dealers

Who do you tip, how much, and when?????
This topic came to mind, because I was talking to a friend, and he does NOT think it is necessary to tip cab drivers. I do, but wish to know how much tip to leave these helpful people.

Please specify flat fee or percentage

Cab drivers?

Bartenders? per drink

Salon? Barber? Massage?

Curb check in at airport per bag?

Waiter/tress?

Asking info from conceigre? (sp) ?

Is it out of ordinary to tip front desk personel??

Room service bringing food??

Extra toothbrush, razor, etc?

Car wash workers ?

Valet?

Tour guides on bus, boat, trolley, walking??

Housecleaners?

And please include any if I have missed important service industry jobs and include tip suggestion.

Cabbies-about 10%

Bar tenders-about a dollar per drink, if you run a tab and they are quick about getting you a new one fast, 20%

Salon/Barber-my hair cuts only cost 20$ and I give 5 for tip.

Massage-they usually cost around 65-80 if you like it give them a 20, if not 10 to 15 bucks.

Curb check-1-3 dollars if their nice.

Waitress-I am one, so no matter what I always tip at least 15% even if they are bad, because I know what its like to have a bad day. 25% if their really good.

For information-nothing if they go out of their way to bring you something or take you some where 2-5 dollars depending.

Front desk-No tip, but if you feel so inclined I am sure they will accept.

Room service- 10% because they don't keep coming back to check on you and ask you if you need a refill on your coke!

Extras- maybe a dollar or 2.

Car wash-depends on how well they do 5-10

Valet-2-5 depending on if their nice, and if they treat your car well

Tour guides-Maybe 5 bucks if their good.

Housecleaners-Depends on if they do a good job 10-20

Things you forgot:

Housekeeping in hotels--I usually leave around 5

Card dealers at casinos-If you get lucky and their nice throw em a fiver every now and then.

The girl who pushes the free drink cart at the casino--1-2 dollars

The girl with the cigarettes at the casino--1-2 dollars.

The kid who loads the groceries into your car-1-5 if they are nice.

And thats about all I can think of now. But remember all of these people do get paid for their job but it usually is minimum wage. And Cabdrivers do not get paid. Barbers, and Salon employees pay rent on their chairs.

Most people who make tips live on tips. If you think they deserve a tip give them one, if you think they don't then don't. But always remember it is gratuity, something you do because you are greatful for their service.
