Statistics On Cigarette Smoking
Research paper: how to write a general objective, specific objective and justification?
Hey there. I am writing a research paper on the Prevalence, Knowledge and Attitude towards cigarette smoking among medical students.
I'm a little stumped at the objectives. How do I break them down?
Any advice/help would be highly appreciated!

Hi. It's always helpful to have a clear idea of your key words/phrases for your research. In this case, they'd be prevalence, knowledge and attitude of course.
But those might be tough for you to formulate an actual topic of research. They may seem like three separate ideas, but if you string them together, your research question would probably thinking along the lines of "Does being well-informed on the effects of cigarette smoking decrease the probability of smoking amongst medical students"
With that, you'll be drawing on statistics (thus prevalence) in your research. Following that, you can research on attitudes of medical students on cigarette smoking and if that affects on their habit. It'd also be interesting to see if there's an association between knowledge and attitude and their consequent effect on smoking. Since knowing the harmful effects may not necessarily mean a firm objection to smoking.
Hope this helps. All the best!
