Marlboro Smooths....?
has anyone else noticed that Marlboro Smooths taste NOTHING like they used to since they went "fire safe" ?

The "fire-safe" cigarettes are garbage. They taste bad, they contain a chemical that makes them even worse for you and they keep you puffing so hard to try and keep them lit, you probably end up smoking a lot heavier than you would if you could leave the cigarette alone for a minute or two.

I've been stuffing my own smokes at a cost of about $15.00 a carton ($1.50 a pack). It takes a little time, but the cigarettes are WAY cheaper, better and not "fire safe". Having to make the cigarettes helps me keep my smoking under control too. A 16 oz. (1 pound) bag of tobacco makes about 2 cartons of cigarettes (400).

Check out the Top-O-Matic or Premier Supermatic injection machines. Not the new Top-O-Matic T2 which is getting a reputation for being problematic.

Check out the 1839 Smooth (light) or Criss Cross Smooth tobaccos. They're a little sweet and a Marlboro smoker should like them. I like the Zen Light filter tubes. A little Criss Cross Vanilla flavored tobacco in the mix can be nice too. Mabe 1/4 to 1/2 flavored tobacco and the rest regular light. Many of the roll your own tobaccos are being marketed as "pipe tobaccos" or "dual purpose tobaccos" now. They were able to get around the ridiculous tax on cigarette tobaccos this way. The cut is slightly different than it used to be, but it tastes like great cigarette tobacco and stuffs fine with the machines.

This place doesn't have the 1839, vanilla flavored Criss Cross tobaccos or the Zen filter tubes, but they have a much nicer selection of cigarette cases. The ones that are called "push button" or "push to open" are very nice, durable cases that easily fit 20 cigarettes (some can't easily). The Premier Light are my second choice tubes.
