Are cigarettes at the Navy Exchange duty free?
I don't smoke but my friend recently asked me to go on base for him to get him some Newports because they're supposedly cheaper on base? Is this true?

They might be cheaper, but not by much. All cigarettes sold on base on still taxed.
We used to get cheap cigarettes when the ship was underway, as they were taxfree then. I think that did away from that years ago.
